3 Quick Ways to Lower Your Bills
Cutting back your monthly spending is not always an easy thing to do. However, there will be times in your life when it is necessary to cut back. It is always wise to save money for the future and for times when you are faced with financial difficulties. If you have not saved and are finding yourself in the midst of these difficulties you need to evaluate your spending and cut back your monthly expenses wherever possible.
Listed below are 3 easy things you can do to cut back each month.
1. Lower your cable bill. If you are paying extra for sports channels, HBO, lifetime, etc. you need to stop, at least temporarily. You can give it up for a short period of time, and once you are in a better financial position you can add it back on to your account. You can cancel cable all together or you can just drop down to basic cable. Either way you can save anywhere from $50 to $100 a month.
2. Change your cell phone plan. Many people are paying too much for their cell phones. Look at your last three cell phone statements. If you are suddenly paying a lot for text messaging, call the company and pay the lower flat rate for unlimited text messaging. The same goes for using too many minutes. If you tend to go over a little each month it is worth paying a flat rate to add more minutes. If you are not even coming close on the minutes you pay for each month check to see if there is a cheaper plan that would work for you. Usually you can save a little money here if you evaluate your statements and familiarize yourself with all the plans that your cell phone provider offers.
3.Cancel your gym memberships. In most households 2 or more people are paying a monthly gym membership fee. If you are not tied down by a contract, cancel or freeze your membership for a while. You can exercise at home or outdoors temporarily. This can save you $20 to $100 a month.
